DEERFIELD BEACH, FLA., DECEMBER 15, 1998 Quest Diagnostics Incorporated
(NYSE: DGX) today announced it has acquired Coral Springs Diagnostics Laboratory of Coral
Springs, one of the largest independently owned clinical laboratories in south Florida.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Testing which had been done by Coral Springs Diagnostics will now be performed at Quest
Diagnostics Deerfield Beach laboratory.
As part of the transaction, Coral Springs Medical Director and owner, Dr. Edward
A. Dauer, will join Quest Diagnostics. Dr. Dauer is currently Director of Radiology at
Florida Medical Center and Clinical Associate Professor of Radiology (voluntary faculty)
at the University of Miami School of Medicine. Dr. Dauer is also a member of the Board of
Trustees of the University of Miami and of Mt. Sinai Hospital (Miami). He is a member of
the Florida State Board of Medicine, the states licensing board for physicians,
where he has served two terms as Chairman.
