TETERBORO, N.J., JULY 31, 1998 - Quest Diagnostics Incorporated (NYSE: DGX) has elected William F. Buehler to serve as a member of its Board of Directors, replacing retiring director David A. Duke, Ph.D. The appointment returns the Board to seven members.
William F. Buehler, 59, is Executive Vice President, Business Operations, for Xerox Corporation, Stamford, Connecticut, a position he has held since 1997. Mr. Buehler directs five business groups: Production Systems, which focuses on high-end digital production publishing and printing markets; Office Document Products, which focuses on stand-alone office copiers, networked color copiers/printers and Document Centre digital systems; Document Services, which is responsible for the integration and delivery of a broad range of document services; Channels, responsible for retailers, resellers and distributors; and Supplies, which handles products for document processing through direct and indirect sales channels. He is also responsible for Corporate Strategic Services, which includes worldwide manufacturing and logistics; Business Development, which oversees Xerox’s acquisitions and strategic alliances; and the Systems Software and Architecture organization.
Prior to joining Xerox in 1991, Mr. Buehler spent 27 years with AT&T, where he held a variety of executive posts in sales, marketing, human resources and general management. He serves on the boards of the National Association of Manufacturers; the SEI Center for Advanced Studies in Management at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania; and the Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd., Xerox’s Japanese affiliate.
