Quest Diagnostics to Provide Lab Services to Johns Hopkins Health System

TETERBORO, N.J., MAY 12, 1998-Quest Diagnostics Incorporated (NYSE: DGX) today announced it has entered into an agreement with Johns Hopkins Health System of Baltimore, Maryland, to provide multiple clinical services.

Under the agreement with Johns Hopkins' Department of Pathology, Quest Diagnostics will provide clinical reference laboratory, logistics and information services to a number of Johns Hopkins Health System hospitals located in the Baltimore/Washington, D.C. area -- including Johns Hopkins Hospital and Bayview Medical Center.

Johns Hopkins Health System was selected by U.S. News and World Report as the top-rated health care system in the nation in each of the last seven years. The Quest Diagnostics laboratory in Baltimore will serve as the hub for providing services to the Johns Hopkins member hospitals.
